Every Hit Doesn't Have to be a Home Run
Here's something I've learned after working with businesses around the world and of all sizes: we're all obsessed with the home runs.
The million-dollar deals. The game-changing partnerships. The revolutionary product launches.
Don't get me wrong โ those are incredible when they happen. But here's what I see too often: leaders missing the small wins that actually keep their teams motivated and moving forward.
Think about baseball for a second. Sure, everyone goes wild for a grand slam. But the crowd still cheers when someone gets on base, right? And those base hits? They add up to runs on the scoreboard.

A project finished ahead of deadline. Zero customer complaints today. Your support team handling fewer tickets than usual. Someone on your team mastering a new skill. A customer leaving that perfect 5-star review. A new referral coming in. Even a social media post performing better than expected.
These might not make the company newsletter, but they're the stuff that keeps morale up when bigger goals feel out of reach.
I've watched one-person startups celebrate their first organic social media share with the same energy that enterprise teams celebrate landing a major client. And you know what? Both celebrations matter.
The small wins create momentum. They build confidence. They remind your team (and you) that progress is happening, even when the scoreboard doesn't show it yet.
