Midweek Motivation: What Actually Gets Me Out of Bed
Honestly? Some mornings are rough.
Running a business is taxing—mentally, physically, all of it. And the older I get, the more tempting it is to stay under the covers and pretend the problems will solve themselves.
But at Lucus Labs, we borrowed a rule I love: nothing Lucus Labs is someone else's problem. It's our version of "leave it better than you found it."
And that keeps me going.
For a lot of entrepreneurs, motivation comes from freedom—working your own hours, building your own path. For others, it's financial. Both are valid.
But for me? It's impact.
I think about a tool I built years ago that cut dev time by 80%. My coworker called it "the best software" he'd ever used. Or the time I automated an entire art department's workflow—hours of manual work reduced to minutes. One artist told me it completely changed her life, causing her to actually enjoy her job again.
That's what gets me out of bed. Knowing something I created made someone's life or job easier, better, or just a little more enjoyable.
That's my fuel.
So here's my question for you: What keeps you motivated when the week feels heavy? Is it freedom? Growth? Impact? Something else entirely?
Drop a comment—I'd genuinely love to hear what drives you. And if you're a business owner wrestling with similar challenges, let's connect. Sometimes the best motivation comes from knowing you're not alone in the grind.
